About Katharine

Until recently, Dr. Batt maintained an active clinical hematology practice at Wake Forest University. From 2015-2017, she was appointed Director of the Hemophilia Treatment Center; she also holds a joint appointment in the public health sciences department and a cross-appointment with the pediatrics’ department. She also consults with the London School of Economics on health policy projects, providing insight into the practice of clinical medicine in the United States.

Her research interests include global disparities in physician salaries, care delivery strategies to vulnerable patient populations, and barriers to clinical care. Dr. Batt received a BA from Yale University, an MSc in International Health Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an MD from SUNY Buffalo.

Her board certifications include internal medicine (ABIM, 2009) and palliative medicine (ABIM, 2010).
